The Okemos Public School District has proposed a $24.9 Million bond to fund necessary upgrades to maintain and enhance the tradition of excellence in our schools.
Why do we need a bond? Our student population is growing; our buses and educational technology are aging; our other equipment is aging and not conducive to the flexibility necessary to teach our children; and, the district has not been able to provide necessary building upgrades for eighteen years.
On Tuesday, May 7th, the residents of the Okemos School District will have the opportunity to continue the Tradition of Excellence that has been the hallmark of the Okemos Public Schools. The Okemos Schools have been recognized as exemplary nationally and have consistently ranked in the top 10 school districts in Michigan.
